Food Safety Training for the Transportation Industry - Operations Team

Awareness of potential food safety issues that could occur during transportation operations. Summarizing food safety standards and sanitary transportation practices to help employees address food safety issues.

Completing all three modules in this Learning Path will provide learners with the full awareness training required by the Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food (STF) Rule. Following the completion of the modules, a certificate will be issued. This certificate can then be used as a record of employee training.

Module 1:  Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Overview
FSMA Overview for Carriers, we will address who this new food safety act is affecting, who it applies to, a timeline of the rollout, compliance dates and how the essential requirements will impact the transportation industry.

Module 2: Food Safety for the Transportation Industry
Awareness of potential food safety issues that could occur during transportation operations. Summarizing basic sanitary transportation practices to help employees address food safety issues.

Module 3: Good Transportation Practices for the Sanitary Shipment of Food
We will examine the Good Transportation Practices (GTPs), which will assist in controlling the chances of introducing any food safety hazards to food through the work environment or operational practices. Here at Iron Apple with having broken down the GTPs into 5 elements – Sanitation & Pest control, Transportation, Equipment, Recall & Traceability and Personnel.
